Day 12: Helper

Today I helped my mum with her PowerPoint presentation. I taught her how to animate her images and how to do groovy stuff like make things fly in!

Day 11: Technology Advisor

Today I taught my mum how to download photos from a digital camera. I also taught mum how to print out photos from the computer.

Day 10: Helping

Day 9: Leaves

Today I helped Mum and my sister pick up leaves from the local park. We collected leaves so we could use it as compost for our garden.

Day 8: Enviro-friendly me!

Walking on the footpath, I found a Sprite bottle and a Coke Zero can lying around. I decided that makes our community look uncivilized and messy! I thought the right place to put them away was our green recycling bins!

Day 7: Helping the opponent

Today we went to the"Science and tech." competition. When we were making the prototype of the model, millions of teams came over and begged "Can we please use your cellotape?" We were reluctant but we knew they needed it too.

Day 5: Donation to School

Today I donated 3 dollars towards my sister's primary school. They had a Huff-a-Puff-a-thon and I donated 30 cents for each lap she ran!

Day 4: Helping Hands

Today I helped my mum to clear and unload the dishwasher, clean the floor (someone had smelly feet cough* cough*) and put out the washing!

Monday, May 19, 2008

Day 3: Cleaning the Floor

Today my mum's hands were cracking a lot from all the work: cooking, washing the pots and pans. I helped her today by wiping the floor for her after her art lesson (some of the students had very smelly feet). This gave her time to cook our dinner and meant that her hands won't crack more if they have time to rest.

Day 2: Clearing Up Table

Today I looked at our working table.. What a mess! I cleared it up so we could work, all of us, because my mum is studying and while studying she also has to cook!

Day 1: Chess

Today I went to the Westfield Shopping Centre to play in a chess tournament. I had a friend Alexis , that played and had a really tough time, playing an opponent that was smashing the timer and staring at him. He was trying to put his opponents off in any way he could (he put me off too). I encouraged Alexis to do his best to get into the finals. I had got into the finals but Alexis lost to the "annoying" guy. He had to have a play off to get in the finals. I wished him "good luck" and he replied with a wink. I hope I see him at the finals tomorrow!

Welcome

"Room 11, your new mission: you have to make a difference in your community"
"How much time do we have?"
"15 days"

We were given the task to make a difference in our community in 15 days. We had to write down every single good thing we did to the people around us. We have to record everything we did well that pleased the people around us in our blog. Overall, we are trying to be good, helpful citizens! (like do the dishes or make your mum a cuppa)

Note from Miss K:
It is important that you record each day- (starting Saturday 17 May) how you made a difference
You will need to post
  • the date (day 1, 2, ....)
  • what you have done
  • who you made a difference to
  • what virtues you used
